We are building and developing rural retreat and recreation center in distant, solitude and ecologicaly clean place next to small city called Indra.
It’s situated in European Union member state of Latvia.
Indra is a traditional female name for Latvia. But in ancient Vedic culture, which was based in India, Indra was the name of the leader of the Gods.
In Western culture we knew him as Zeus, Jupiter or Perun. His main attribute is thunder and lightning. His vehicle – white elephant Airavata.
In XX century under name Indra Devi was great yoga theacher, who was first Wester female teacher, recognized by other Indian yoga masters.
She was born in Riga, capital city of Latvia. Along with world-known masters as B.K.S. Iyengar and Pattabhi Jois, she was first Western student of Great Yoga Master Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya .
Indra Devi became first renowned female guru in the West. She lives in Hollywood. She taught Greta Garbo and Marilyn Monroe.
We dicede to develope yoga center at such remarkable place as Indra in Latvia. All our family, including our 3 little daugters, moved to live here and to build quet, solitude, comfortable and spiritual place. The place, where any good person can find peace and tranquility. Far from city rush and diturbance. The place, where you are always welcome.
